- Mounting Information for the H2OV
The H2OV comes with a 1/4-20 mounting plate, that can be attached anywhere on the housing, this will work with most camera mounts, light bars, handle mounts, etc.
You can purchase a Hand Strap Mount from us see: ( ) or you can make your own with a simple conversion of the This can be done by removing the rail piece from the goggle mount, cut off the small rails, (a grinder works best), drill a 1/4 inch hole in the center and attach it to the H2OV mounting plate using a 1/4-20 x 1/2" stainless steel bolt.
With the goggle mount and a wide Velcro strap you can attach the H2OV to many different locations. Strap the H2OV to the back of your hand, your dive light, scooter, mask or helmet, don't forget the "polecam" for that self portrait. For above the water, try the strap on your life vest or harness, arm, leg, or other body strap. For hard surface mounting on boards, poles, kayaks, personal watercraft, etc. we recommend using heavy duty adjustable mounts like mounts.
You can also convert a ,
simply pop off the rail piece and set aside, peel
off the hook & loop square in the flat mount base,
fill the hole about 3/4 full with 15 min. epoxy and
glue the rail piece in upside down. (see photos )
------------------------
(tip) -- before gluing the rail piece, razor off the
the little bump in the center, this will help the
rail piece sit flat . VholdR Flat Surface Mount Conversion...
(Note.. With all conversions, the goggle mount base must be used, the hook & loop of the flat surface mount base is not strong enough to support the weight of the housing).
We do not recommend attaching the housing to your head in any high speed situation, this could cause injury in a wipe-out.
It is also important to attach your H2OV to a surfing, boating, or watercraft type lanyard.
Be safe, get wet, go deep, and get it on video with the..

Update: We are working on a smaller , lighter, and more form fitting waterproof case for the ContourHD. The "H2OV Light" will be designed for action water sports like kitesurfing and waterskiing.
The H2OV housing was designed for technical and recreational SCUBA.
Pressure Tested to 300 ft. - 100 m.
The depth that a housing will survive is dependent upon its size, material, thickness, and safety factor. The H2OV was designed with a very conservative safety margin, and has been pressure tested to 300 ft. A properly designed housing can provide years of use, and will not flood unless it has been damaged or the seals have not been properly maintained.
All housings are tested before shipping to insure there are no defects in design or workmanship. After that, it is the responsibility of the user to avoid damaging the housing and maintain the o-rings and their sealing surfaces.

1. Make sure there are no nicks or deep scratches on the sealing surface of the housing or the cover.
(If this occurs, unit must be returned for repair and testing.)
2. Make sure the sealing surfaces are clean and free from any foreign particles.
3. Inspect and replace o-rings if you observe any sign of ware or cracking.
4. Contact support for maintenance of the power control button on the Full Control Unit.
5. We recommended you keep the H2OV in a protective case to avoid transport damage and scratching of the lens surface.
6. When used in salt water, be sure to rinse with fresh water after each use.
7. Always keep your H2OV on a leash, give it lots of water, and feed it plenty of contourhd’s.
Note..The H2OV comes with a scratch resistant coating on the lens surface, but the housing is acrylic and is susceptible to scratching. Care must always be taken to protect the front of the housing.
If the lens face becomes badly scratched, the unit can be returned for a lens replacement.

Removing the Cover
The latches on the H2OV are spring loaded and include a safety catch to prevent accidental opening.
The best procedure for removing the cover of the housing is to place the palm of one hand over the back of the housing and press in the small safety catch on one of the latches. With your other hand, lift up on the latch, allow the latch to remain hooked to the cover. Repeat this process with the second latch, and then remove the cover.
Do not place the housing with the lens face against an unprotected surface while removing or replacing the cover, taking care not to scratch the lens face.
Inserting your Camera
Insert the camera with the power and record switch in the off position., insert with the bottom of the camera facing the felt pads. The camera's small lanyard can be tucked along side the camera to allow room for the cover, (the lanyard will also allow you to easily remove the camera from the housing).
Replacing the Cover
Inspect that the sealing surfaces are clean and free of any foreign particles. Place the cover on the housing making sure that it is seated properly. Set both latches loosely on the hooks of the cover then press down on both latches at the same time. Look to see that you have a good seal, you should see a solid black line on the o-ring. DO NOT latch one at a time.
Camera Operation
To turn the camera on, firmly press the power control button on the back of the housing. To start recording, simply rotate the control knob clockwise. To stop recording, rotate the control knob counter clockwise.
Update: We are developing a lens cover for the H2OV with clear and filtered inserts, will keep you posted.
